PUTRAJAYA, Oct 26 — Beginning November 1, all employers in Malaysia seeking to hire foreign workers through the rehiring programme or apply for expatriate recruitment must first advertise job vacancies on MYFutureJobs, the official national employment portal.
According to Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M. Saravanan, postings on MYFutureJobs must remain active for at least 14 days for rehiring foreign workers and 30 days for hiring expatriates. This step is mandatory to ensure Malaysians are prioritized in all employment opportunities.
After the job listing period, employers will be required to interview local candidates, with interviews facilitated by the Social Security Organisation (Socso) and other agencies under the Ministry of Human Resources.
Job advertisements must include essential details such as:
-
Job title
-
Salary range
-
Required academic qualifications
-
Relevant skills and competencies
In addition, all employers must register through the Integrated Foreign Workers Management System (ePPAX), which is part of the government’s effort to enforce labour law compliance when hiring non-citizen employees.
Starting November 1, users of the current JobsMalaysia platform will be redirected to MYFutureJobs, which will serve as the centralized job-matching platform under the Ministry of Human Resources.
“This policy ensures Malaysian citizens are given top priority for job openings. Only when there are no suitable local candidates will applications for foreign or expatriate workers be considered,” said Saravanan.
